IMT unveils electrified concept products at CONEXPO 2023

March 14, 2023

GARNER, Iowa (March 14, 2023) Iowa Mold Tooling Co., Inc. (IMT), an Oshkosh Corporation company (NYSE: OSK), is providing a look at its electrification product roadmap at this year’s CONEXPO-CON/AGG in Las Vegas, Nevada, from March 14 to 18. At the show, the company is displaying exciting concept products in its booth (North Hall — N11215), including the industry’s first fully electric telescopic crane.

Building on a history of innovative product development and design, IMT is at the forefront of developing future-forward electric solutions and products as more markets embrace battery power. The service vehicle and material handling equipment manufacturer will have three electric work truck concept products on display in its booth.

IMT is leveraging its integration expertise and collaborating with hybrid and electrification experts Odyne Systems and Vanair to develop electric system packages that easily integrate with other leading IMT solutions like IMT® CMD.CTRL™ System and material handling and telescopic cranes.

“As the industry undergoes a revolution rooted in the need for true sustainability, we are developing electric and hybrid systems that will enable our customers to tackle jobs efficiently while meeting increasingly strict environmental and worksite regulations,” said Amy Brownlee, Vice President and General Manager of IMT. “These solutions allow our customers to operate equipment like they always have while still being able to take advantage of the many benefits of battery power, including helping reduce emissions, managing fuel efficiency, reducing noise and easier maintenance.”

First of its kind

IMT is leading the way by bringing a battery-powered telescopic crane to market, and show attendees will get a first-hand look at this exciting conceptual product during CONEXPO.

Outfitted on a powerful Dominator® I body featuring IMT CMD.CTRL System, IMT will showcase a conceptual fully electric 3,200-lb telescopic crane powered by the EPEQ™ ELiMENT battery system and featuring the EPEQ™ AIR20 reciprocating compressor.

“This fully electric telescopic crane is a peek into what’s to come from IMT as we work to meet a wide range of application needs across the markets we serve,” Brownlee said.

Embracing the benefits of battery

As more OEMs and end users look toward electrification, IMT is innovating unique solutions in collaboration with companies like Odyne Systems, a leading manufacturer of electrification and hybrid systems for medium-duty and heavy-duty trucks.

A rugged IMT 28562 Wallboard Loader featuring a flatbed body integrated with the Odyne plug-in hybrid technology will be on display at the show. This concept truck will showcase the efficiencies offered by electrified solutions, including optimum performance, helping reduce emissions and outstanding uptime on the job.

 A unique hybrid solution

IMT is also working with Vanair, a manufacturer of mobile power solutions which include vehicle-mounted air compressors, generators, welders, hydraulics, electrified power equipment and more. Vanair has developed a comprehensive, end-to-end line of Electrified Power Equipment® products known as EPEQ™.

Together, IMT and Vanair have further enhanced a Dominator III body by integrating an IMT 12000 30-foot Crane and IMT CMD.CTRL System with the EPEQ™ electric hydraulic power system and EPEQ™ AIR45 rotary screw compressor. This unique hybrid solution will be on display at CONEXPO-CON/AGG.

“We’re excited to show CONEXPO-CON/AGG attendees what they can look forward to from IMT as we continue to innovate solutions on behalf of our customers,” Brownlee said. “The electric and hybrid solutions we will have on display illustrate our commitment to helping our customers secure their vehicles and business operations against the changing industry landscape.”
